1 Picture Means 1,000 Words

Well, this one means a few more. Many more than I have time to write today. It's not the end of any story -- far from it. It is the beginning of one however. Every day is after all.

Have you ever taken a look at the word "history" (or maybe even look at it like herstory?)? It's a story. That's it. If there's anything that I learned from Dr. Who, it's that life is a story and we can make it a good one. EVEN the parts that have already been.

We cannot change history, but we can rewrite it. What does that mean?

When we read or tell stories, it is always from a certain perspective, and we usually tend to agree with the perspective of the storyteller. So let's take a look at our perspectives. How do we see our history? What story do we tell ourselves and others about ourselves? What parts of our story serve us, and what parts don't?

It doesn't serve me to think of myself as a victim. While it's factually true that I have experienced traumatic events in my marriage, I get to choose how I'm going to tell the story. We have often heard that we are a product of our experiences. In mathematical terms, a product is the result of one thing multiplied by another.

Factor x Factor = Product

Look at it like this

Experience x Perspective = Me

If I were to choose to multiply my experience by anger, resentment, hostility, or some other negative thought, then that would result in a negative result.

Remember this?

1 x -10 = -10

so if that's true, then look at this:

Experience x -Perspective = -Me

I desire to be positive, and invite all things virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy into my life. I choose to operate on a frequency that will allow that to happen.

Take a look at your perspective, and take a look at you. What will you choose?
